FAQ

Need Help?

Publisher includes a built-in Support page.  The left-side bar in WordPress Plugin Publisher has every step for publishing your app.

If you encounter a problem, click Email Support inside the application. Publisher can prepare a support request containing useful system information about your Mac and installation, helping us diagnose the issue more quickly.

If you have any questions about the software, please write us using the contact form.

When contacting support, it’s helpful to include what you were doing, what you expected to happen, and the steps that reproduce the issue.

License Recovery

Never worry if you lose it. When you purchase WPP, the license is enabled.

When a customer buys a product with license keys enabled, WPP:

  • generates the license key,
  • includes it in the customer’s receipt email,
  • and makes it available later through My Orders.

Customers can sign in to My Orders using the email address they purchased with. We’ll send a secure magic link, so you don’t even need to remember a password. Once inside, you can see your orders and subscriptions.

A Simpler Way to Publish WordPress Plugins

Guidance

The synchronized workflow is one of Publisher’s strongest UX help.

WordPress Plugin Publisher is organized around the way a release actually moves from your computer to WordPress.org.

Instead of presenting dozens of unrelated tools and expecting you to know what comes next, Publisher places the publishing workflow along the left side of the application in a clear, sequential path.

As you work, the navigation stays in sync with your progress.

Project Library → Create Release → Repository Library → WordPress.org Workspace → GitHub Workspace → Release Timeline

The Publishing Intelligence examines the release and its publishing environment and surfaces what is ready, what still needs attention, and what should happen next. Each area has a specific role in getting your plugin from source code to a published release.

Easy Tracking

Publisher tracks the state of your release as you move through the application.

Completed steps receive a green checkmark, giving you an immediate visual record of what has already been accomplished. The workspace you’re currently using is clearly highlighted, while the remaining areas stay available when you need them.

You don’t have to remember what you did five minutes ago—or what you’re supposed to do next.

The application itself becomes the publishing checklist.

The Interface Moves With the Release

The result is a workspace where the interface and the publishing process stay synchronized.

You aren’t jumping between terminal commands, Finder windows, SVN clients, GitHub pages, ZIP files, and handwritten release checklists trying to determine what comes next.

Publisher guides the release forward, one completed step at a time.
